Nov 17th - Beau was diagnosed with Stage 3 High Risk Neuroblastoma
Nov 21st - Hickman Line placed, Tumor biopsy, Bone marrow biopsy
Nov 22nd - Started 1st round of chemo
Nov 24nd - Fluid around lungs, procedure done to remove fluid
Nov 25th thru Dec 1st - Nutritional supplements administered by IV
Nov 26th - Blood transfusion
Dec 2nd - HOME!!!
Dec 5th - Hearing Test
Dec 13th thru Dec 16th - 2nd round of chemo
Jan 4th thru Jan 6th - 3rd round of chemo
Jan 18th - To night clinic for fever
Jan 24th thru Jan 26th - 4th round of chemo
Feb 12th - CT Scan
Feb 13th - Results of CT scan, tumor has shrunk about 50%
Feb 20th - Surgery scheduled for Feb 28th
Feb 27th - Surgery postponed until Mar 7th due to ear/viral infection
Mar 6th - Admitted to hospital for surgery
Mar 7th - 10 hour long surgery/part of tumor and left kidney was removed
Mar 8th - Breathing tube removed
Mar 13th - Moved from PICU to Peds Gen Floor
Mar 16th - Post Op CT scan done - results show that the tumor that was unable to be removed is growing aggressively
Mar 17th thru Mar 21st - 5 days of chemo
Mar 20nd - NG tube removed
Mar 22rd - Beau's picture is in multiple newspapers with Miss North Carolina
Mar 23rd - Beau spiked high fever, infection in blood, started on antibiotics
Mar 26th thru 30th - Round of chemo
Mar 30th - HOME!!
Mar 30th thru April 7th - IV Antibiotics at home
April 2nd - Clinic visit, counts good
April 4th - Clinic visit, Hickman flushed
April 5th - Consultation with Dr. Gilman at Chapel Hill
April 6th - Visit to night clinic due to fever
April 8th - Admitted back to hospital due to pain and not urinating.
April 9th - CT scan (results showed bowels and bladder fine, tumor continues to grow), NG tube and foley catheter inserted.
April 10th - 2nd IV placed in hand, 1st round of new chemo regimen started, chest xray.
April 11th - Blood cultures, infection in blood, antibiotics started
April 12th - MIBG test
April 13th - NG tube & 2nd IV removed, chest xray, 2nd MIBG test, TPN started, drank Pediasure
April 14th - Started GCSF drug, Xray on belly
April 16th - Removed oxygen and foley catheter, blood count very low
April 18th - White count bottomed out
April 20th - CT scan, tumor has shrunk a little and scan appears to show some dead tissue
April 21th - Beau gets to go outside in the sunshine riding in the wagon
April 23th - Beau's white count jumps to 12 & neutrophils to 8,000 - has slight fever evening hrs.
April 24th - Beau's counts even higher - goes home for remainder of week/weekend
April 29th - Beau returns to hospital with 104 fever
May 6th - Beau returns home feeling good.
May 11th - Beau returns to hospital with 102+ fever, infection in skin around hickman
May 12th - Beau has foley catherer put in because he isn't urinating properly. He has CT scan to see what is going on
May 14th - CT scan shows turmor has slight reduction in size. Beau receives news he will be going to UNC on Tuesday to start stem cell harvest process.
May 15th - Beau arrives at UNC - line put in place for stem cell harvest
May 16th - Beau has enough stem cells harvested for 6 transplants.
May 17th - Beau completes stem cell process, has lines removed and heads home.
