Beau Lives On Good afternoon all! I hope you are having a blessed week. Today’s updates are actually updates on
things I share with you in past updates. A little while ago I mentioned to you that I had been contacted
by a lady from India now living in Dubai that had lost her 5 yr. old daughter to neuroblastoma this past November. Pauline
is a wonderful Christian lady who continues to struggle with the lost of her child and rightly so. Unless you have been thru
something like this you cannot begin to imagine how difficult it must be. G-Paw and I have adopted her
so to speak and we have been emailing back and forth with her. She calls me Mom Mary. We
share scriptures and messages of encouragement with her. I’ve told her all about our family (sent
pictures too) and about Beau’s Buddies and the plan for the book “Love From Lillie and Beau”.
This new found friendship has been such a blessing and one I know Beau had a hand in. I believe
Evageline and Beau have found each other and are playing on Jesus’ big playground. One of the picture
I share with you today is of Pauline and Evageline. As far as the book, “With Love from Lillie and Beau”, things
are in that slow waiting period. The ones with “the know” are working on getting it off the
ground so we will get back with you on that when we have more details. I know Lillie is also with Beau
and Evageline and they have formed a special friendship. I can just see those three mischievous angles
in heaven running and playing together. Another bit of news I want to share with you is about Beau’s
cousin David or Bid Dave at I call him. You’ve heard me talk about how much he loved Beau and how
Beau inspired him to do well in school and to work on his football career even that much harder. He received an offer for
a full-ride scholarship from UNC last spring and made the verbal commitment to accept it but he couldn’t sign the official
papers until this month. Well, Wednesday, February 5, he signed the papers and made the commitment official
and as Auntie Nay said, “he belongs to UNC now and they can feed him”. He was so excited and
they had a signing party at his dad’s office that morning at 7 am so he could fax his paperwork to UNC at 7:01. David
wore his “hope for Beau” wrist band (you can see it in the picture) as well as the neuroblastoma wrist band and
told his parents Beau will be with me when I sign the papers. Beau is his inspiration and he works
hard at all he does because he’s doing it not only for himself but for Beau. Beau will forever live
in David’s heart. He will be there with him in every “pancake” (some football thing)
he makes on the field, in every football practice, etc. 1 John 2:10 Whoever loves his brother lives in the light.. 1 John
4:21 ..Whoever loves God must also love his brother. While I have never met Pauline and Evageline, Pauline has become my
adopted daughter. Beau wasn’t David’s brother but he loves him like he was his brother.
God is so awesome. He continues to use our little warrior fireman to touch the loves of so many
and to bring us all together. What a legacy our little continues to leave behind. Take a moment today to
share your love with someone else – a smile, a hug and quick hello can mean so much. God Bless!!
Love, Grammy

Friends Helping Friends Good afternoon all! I hope this update finds everyone doing well. Happy belated Valentine’s
Day!! Our update today is about a very special Valentines breakfast that was held on Valentine’s
Day at Chic Filet at the Greenville Mall. Beau’s Buddies in connection with Chic Filet held a breakfast
for kids currently receiving chemo treatments. The breakfast was from 9-10 am in the food court area in
front of Chic Filet. Tasty chicken sandwiches along with some scrumptious cinnamon rolls were served and
they were delicious. Purple the Clown was there making all kinds of balloon hats for the kids (and some
grownups too) and a table was setup so the kids could get their faces painted. The Chic Filet Cow
was on hand as well and as you will see from one of today’s pictures he was cutting up and having fun. Beau’s
Buddies Board of Directors was there – that is them in the picture with the cow. Another one of the
pictures is of Jonathan – as Kayla said I didn’t recognize him with his hair but he sure is cute Grammy.
Love that hat Jonathan. Speaking of hats – Parham you look pretty cool in your hat.
Riley’s Army was there in full force and had fun fighting with the balloon swords. Riley has
cancer and her family has formed Riley’s Army. There is a link to the webpage here on Beau’s
webpage. A wonderful time was had by all and everyone enjoyed seeing each other and catching up on what
was going on. Proverbs
17:17 A friend loves at all times… Proverbs 27:10 do not forsake your friend and the friend of your
father…. Beau’s Buddies motto is “Friends Helping Friends” and that is what they have been doing over the
last few months by donating chemo chairs to Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, buying a golf cart for the Childlife group to use at
their summer camp, providing DVD players to both the Children’s Hospital and to Leo Jenkins Cancer center, providing
gas cards, etc.. These are just a few of things they have been doing to “help friends in Eastern
NC”. In case you missed it Jennifer and Parham did an interview for Channel 9 that aired last week.
They talked about what happened to our little warrior fireman and how that led to Beau’s Buddies Cancer Fund.
Thank God Dr. Gibbs had a vision and that he knew David Vaughn and that Jennifer and Parham were brought together with
them to form this wonderful organization. Thanks to all Beaus’ Buddies directors for the hard work
you continue to do on behalf of this organization. Our precious little blue eye boy with the huge
infectious smile will forever live on in our hearts and in Beau’s Buddies. We will keep you updated
on future endeavors of Beau’s Buddies. God Bless!! Love, Grammy
